Why didn't God the Father open the scroll in the Book of Revelation?

Consider what Jesus gave up to become a man, its beyond human comprehension. The best way I can express this is to say a God gave up many aspects of His omniscience to become human. He did this to please God the Father, to redeem Gods creation, man.

Psalm 2:7–12

7 I will declare the decree: the Lord hath said unto me, Thou art my Son; this day have I begotten thee.

8 Ask of me, and I shall give thee the heathen for thine inheritance, and the uttermost parts of the earth for thy possession.

9 Thou shalt break them with a rod of iron; thou shalt dash them in pieces like a potter's vessel.

10 Be wise now therefore, O ye kings: be instructed, ye judges of the earth.

11 Serve the Lord with fear, and rejoice with trembling.

12 Kiss the Son, lest he be angry, and ye perish from the way, when his wrath is kindled but a little. Blessed are all they that put their trust in him.

When Jesus completed this work, He will give back the man to the Father who created them.

1 Corinthians 15:24-28

24 Then cometh the end, when he shall have delivered up the kingdom to God, even the Father; when he shall have put down all rule and all authority and power.

25 For he must reign, till he hath put all enemies under his feet.

26 The last enemy that shall be destroyed is death.

27 For he hath put all things under his feet. But when he saith all things are put under him, it is manifest that he is excepted, which did put all things under him.

28 And when all things shall be subdued unto him, then shall the Son also himself be subject unto him that put all things under him, that God may be all in all.

There is something else to consider in this, Gods foresight in His creation of man can be seen in what he created PRIOR to man, Jesus revealed this truth as He described the advent of the great white throne judgment.

Matthew 25:33-34

33 And he shall set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left.

34 Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world:

The foundations of the earth are described in part in Job 38, which are referred to as anthropic constants. These elements God put in place on the Earth to sustain life prior to creating and placing life on the planet. The oxygen levels of the planet are 21% exactly, the rotation of the earth, the axis of the planet, the amount of lightning strikes on the earth that places nitrogen in the ground so things can grow, the magnetic poles are but a few of the 122 constants of the Earth. They are independent yet interdependent.

The Kingdom Jesus is referring to, is the New Jerusalem that resides in Heaven until after the final judgment. Revelation 21

For these reasons, Jesus is the one that releases the judgments that are in the book, on Gods Throne. Note, Jesus is the only one who is worthy to even look at the book, let alone open it to begin the tribulation. Jesus opens the book, in part because the tribulation is in part the wrath of Jesus as well as Gods.

The judgments during the tribulation represent both the vengeance of God and Christ.

There’s Gods vengeance (Deuteronomy 32:35; Hebrews 10:30; Romans 12:19; Revelation 20:9-15), Jesus vengeance (Isaiah 61:2; Jeremiah 46:10; Revelation 19:11-21), Gods and Jesus vengeance (2 Thessalonians 1:8).

Revelation 5:1-5

5 And I saw in the right hand of him that sat on the throne a book written within and on the backside, sealed with seven seals.

2 And I saw a strong angel proclaiming with a loud voice, Who is worthy to open the book, and to loose the seals thereof?

3 And no man in heaven, nor in earth, neither under the earth, was able to open the book, neither to look thereon.

4 And I wept much, because no man was found worthy to open and to read the book, neither to look thereon.

5 And one of the elders saith unto me, Weep not: behold, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, hath prevailed to open the book, and to loose the seven seals thereof.

For these reasons, God chose to run salvation and an aspect of judgment through His Son.

Colossians 1:14–19

14 In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins:

15 Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature:

16 For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him:

17 And he is before all things, and by him all things consist.

18 And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence.

19 For it pleased the Father that in him should all fulness dwell;
